The Halton Hills Youth Chorus is a choir based in Georgetown Ontario for youth ages 8-18. Halton Hills Music Festival co-founders Katharine Krul and Alexandra Lennox are building and running the chorus with the same artistic vision and organizational excellence that you have come to expect from any of their ventures. The Musical Director and conductor Alexandra Lennox has been a full time soprano with The Canadian Opera Company Chorus for 29 seasons. Katharine Krul will oversee the management of the chorus with her incredible attention to detail and organizational prowess.
The Halton Hills Youth Chorus will sing a variety of musical genres focusing on Musical Theatre, Pop and Classical pieces. The selections will be specifically arranged for The Halton Hills Youth Chorus which gives us the freedom to curate a repertoire list unlike any other! This will be an incredible place to sing, improve musicianship, work on vocal technique and build confidence. We are offering a 21 week session with rehearsals every Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00pm January 13 to June 9, 2027. Our rehearsals will prepare us for a stunning show in the final week of the session. A wide variety of music will be performed with piano and with a live band! This will be a wonderful way to meet others who have similar interests and make new friends.
The founders of the Youth Chorus were inspired by witnessing the positive differences the Halton Hills Music Festival is having on the musical community around the area. The changes were most evident in the youth who competed in the Festival. The happiness, pride and accomplishment were palpable and we wondered what else we could do to spread that encouragement even further to more and more young people. We thought the next logical step was to build a choir with the same focus on artistic excellence incorporated into a well run, inspiring experience.
